Hey Randy,

4-5 inches of travel is best for all day riding with enough lite weight to get uphill for 10K. 29er hardtails are also great also, but for 100 mile races a Specialized Epic/Giant Anthem/Santa Cruz Blur/and many others work great

I just wanted to thank everyone who supported this race and compliment all who organized it.

I am one of those ‘old rookies’. This was my first year entering some MTB races. Expectations were all along just to get better. Boy did your event re-emphasize this. Although growing up in Central Oregon, I have lived the past 15 years in Boise. It was fun to get back home and see Bachelor in a ‘different’ way.

Although I was a DNF (still getting over that)I never felt like I was bothering anyone, bringing up the rear. I especially appreciated the attention I received from the medical staff! You see “OLD MAN DAN FOUGHT THE LAVA AND LAVA WON!” They patched me up and sent me back on my way.

It was my first attempt at a endurance 100 and I will be back. Some unfinished business left up their in the rocks.
