Oregon Bike Racing – mountain bike, road bike and running race promotion in the Pacific Northwest. Our events are held in the beautiful and diverse Willamette Valley, Central and Southern Oregon and Washington State.
Ripley and the gang have been pouring over maps, working with COTA and the Forest Service to bring some additional singletrack into the mix this year.
When the course updates are finalized we’ll post the updated map but envision singletrack, old growth forest and views of Broken Top and the Three Sisters mountains.
2010 will be a great year again with the conformation of Hammer Nutritions support once again as our Gel/electrolyte sponsor. More than just that, the Hammer Nutrition team will be crucial to your success in many of my longer events. Endurolytes, HEED, Perpeteum and many more to get you through the pain and make your next outdoor adventure balanced and a success.
Now with a week between us and the finish of the inaugural High Cascade 100 endurance mountain bike race staged out of Bend, Oregon I think its safe to call it a success. 80 racers tested themselves on a challenging, rugged course circumnavigating Mt. Bachelor, descending and climbing out of the Tumalo watershed and dropping down the technical Funner trail before ascending singletrack to the finish line.
Adam Craig (Giant) Sets a new course record in 3:53 for 50 miles and 8000 ft followed by Barry Wicks (KONA) in 3:54 for 1st place in the 2009 Test OF Endurance 50. Check out their post-race interview with Oregon mtb endurance race organizer, Mike Ripley.
Hey, In my 20 years of racing and “living the dream” I can never quite express the experience of the ‘RIDE” Jason Mahokey and XXC mag does a great job of the vision that I attempt to capture in my life and when we build trails, relate, race, ride, and explore.
With more races than you shake a stick at, race for free at a Mudslinger Events race for volunteering before you race and or someone who is coming with you. My success relies on your participation and many times people will volunteer for many duties out of the kindness of their heart. If you are coming to the race and can help before your event an hour early or an hour after, I can arrange a discounted or free entry for such help. Maybe you have a friend who is coming and would like to help, then I can help you with a discounted or free entry. Limited positions are available and they include. Registration, set up and tear down, sweep riders also are needed for those not racing in the mountain bike events, but may want to ride the course. Please arrange such help at least one week prior to an event and thanks for coming and or Volunteering in 2009.
