ABOUT US

Organizer, Oregonian, racer, rider bike and trail advocate!
My name is Michael Ripley, and I grew up in Eugene, Oregon riding my bike in the 1970s for transportation and adventure.
After living in Corvallis and Bend, Oregon, in the '90s, Andi and I settled back in the Willamette Valley to raise our family of three girls, Myka, Rya, and Phebe.
We love connecting people, organizing events for competitions, working on trails, and showcasing the unique places in Oregon and beyond for a good day outdoors. I love to attend cycling events in the area and regionally each year, focusing on MTB and Gravel first and always a scenic course to take on.

Discrimination Policy
It is the policy of Mudslinger Events LLC to ensure equal employment and participating opportunity without discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, national origin, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by Oregon law. Mudslinger Events prohibits any such discrimination or harassment.
Transgender Policy
Please reference the OBRA and USA Cycling, which we value as a starting point in this complex issue:
This rule, along with many others, is subject to change annually prior to the end of the year, upon submission from an OBRA Member or Team to OBRA for any update or change for the annual meeting. Contact OBRA for questions relating to this.
The OBRA Transgender Athlete Participation Policy can be found in section 20 of the OBRA Racing rules here for events that are under OBRA insurance: If you feel this policy needs changing please contact OBRA.

Sanctioning Body Rules Apply
All competition categories at our events follow the rules of the Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA), which governs competitive cycling. These rules set official eligibility requirements for Women’s, Men’s, and Non-Binary divisions.
We are also aware that USA Cycling, the national governing body, has adopted a different policy effective September 15, 2025. While our events are not USA Cycling–sanctioned currently, we will continue to monitor national developments and listen to our community.
Our commitment remains to provide fair, safe, and welcoming events for all athletes. We appreciate your trust as we continue to balance inclusion, fairness, and community voice in our races.
Refund Policy
Updated: 6/4/2024
At Mudslinger Events, we recognize that your time, energy, and investment into each event are valuable. Our goal is to assist you in both pre-season and in-season planning, not only to help you stay healthier physically and mentally, but also to offer the opportunity to connect with your friends and community for a great day outdoors. Look for future Bike reg features that allow you to execute your credits and control your athletic pursuits.
Refund Policy
Mudslinger Events does not offer refunds for any reason.
Registration Protection via Allianz (BikeReg)
During registration, you may have the option to purchase Registration Protection through Allianz, a third-party provider made available by BikeReg.
- This insurance is completely separate from Mudslinger Events—we do not manage or influence it in any way.
- That said, we have heard from several participants who have successfully used this coverage when qualifying circumstances occurred.
- Please note: COVID-19 is currently not covered under this policy.

Credits and Transfers to Future Events
We offer flexible credit options for future events within the following guidelines to make pre-registering easier to commit too.
- 75% Credit – For requests received before Monday at 5 pm the week of the event through Bike Reg
- 50% Credit- For High Cascades 100 or Ring of Fire or Sisters Stampede through Saturday, the week prior to the event at 11 pm. These events tend to sell out, and we want to be able to pull a waitlist in time to make travel plans
- No credits will be issued after 5:00 PM Monday of race week.
- All credits issued are valid for one year from the date of issue and can't be combined with any other offer or promotion.
To request credit, please email us within the appropriate timeframe.
Transfer to Another Participant
You may transfer your registration to another individual for a $10 fee through BikeReg, up until Sunday of race week.
- Use the transfer feature within BikeReg to complete the process or gift your entry if you are unable to attend for any reason (job changes, injury, relocation, etc.).
- The person receiving your entry can update their race category, and will receive a waiver via email to sign, if not already completed online.
- In some cases, the new participant may need to email us directly to confirm any category change.
Event Cancellation Policy
If an event cannot proceed due to circumstances beyond our control—including, but not limited to:
- Severe weather
- Wildfire or flooding
- Permit revocation
- War, terrorism, or pandemics
—no refunds will be issued.
However, Mudslinger Events does carry event cancellation insurance for certain covered incidents. This insurance has successfully supported past claims: We pay an extra 1000-2000 per event for this policy to cover you!
- Ring of Fire – 2022 (wildfire-related cancellation)
- Sasquatch Duro – 2024 (wildfire-related cancellation)
While processing can take up to three months, this insurance has proven helpful when access to the venue is denied or the course is no longer usable. Coverage applies based on conditions the day of the event, and cancellation decisions are only made when we are certain that we cannot proceed.
AQI
We’re using the chart below which details the risks of pollution levels for both healthy and sensitive individuals.
An AQI over 151 that is consistent over the entire route on any given morning would make physical activity unsafe for our participants. We may attempt a delay in the start of the event and or after an hr or two hrs if conditions do not improve the event for the day would be canceled, and unfortunately, we will not be able to refund entry fees, but would attempt to use the insurance that we pay 1000.00 or more per event to attempt to cover your entry fee
Mail-In Registration
While rarely used, we are happy to accommodate those who prefer to register offline or who wish to keep their name off the public start list. Please email us to make arrangements.
In the Event of a Loss Within the Mudslinger Events Family
Should we face the unexpected loss of a critical member of our small family team, we will do everything possible to:
- Continue with the event as planned,
- Reschedule the event, or Offer a transfer to a future date.
However, in such rare and difficult circumstances, we cannot guarantee that the event will proceed or that refunds will be issued. We deeply appreciate your understanding and support.
Thank you for being part of our community. We’re here to support your journey on and off the trail through 2035-2040 God Willing!
